GET INVOLVED
Opera NUOVA is a charitable, not-for-profit organization, committed to offering a unique blend of innovative performances and artistic excellence as we fulfill our commitment to debut emerging artists. Our productions serve to further educate and expand the knowledge of different kinds of opera while thoroughly entertaining the public.
We are committed to eliminating the barriers that keep people from attending the arts and more specifically opera. In order to enhance accessibility, we provide high quality productions featuring Canada’s most promising emerging artists offered in intimate venues with a casual atmosphere and modest pricing.
Because of our commitment to modest pricing, the Vocal Arts Festival relies on a vast array of enthusiastic support including corporate sponsorships, government funding and invaluable volunteer contributions. Especially integral to Opera NUOVA’s support is the Dream Makers Team. By becoming a Dream Maker, you help nurture the Opera NUOVA dream into an ongoing reality.

Become a Billet Host:
Participants in the Opera NUOVA summer training program come from across the country. These young artists require a place to stay while they are here. Billeting a singer or pianist can be a rewarding experience and we are always looking for people who are willing to open their homes to our artists.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER:
Opera NUOVA volunteers are a valued group of the opera family and it would not be possible to reach our goals without their help. Our volunteers perform a number of important tasks for us. They assist with fundraising events, sell tickets or act as ushers at performances and work casinos. They also work backstage, helping to build or paints sets or even manning a spotlight during performances. Our volunteers do office tasks, mailings and hand-addressing projects or help us with any number of odd jobs.
Whatever your skills and availability, we can match your schedule to our needs. Volunteers receive complimentary tickets and are honoured at special volunteer events.
Each year we need people to perform duties such as:
- Assisting with prop building and set painting
- Selling and taking tickets
- Ushering guests to their seats
- Assisting with special events
- Airport pick-up and drop-off of artist.
Our volunteers are important to us and we do our best to let them know that. Our volunteers are treated to the following benefits.
